Naked scientific tyranny. Police in Britain are using license plate scanning technology to create a database of political activists, permitting their vehicles to be targeted for further harassment on phony grounds of “extremism.” The London Guardian is reporting that “Police are gathering the personal details of thousands of activists who attend political meetings and protests, and storing their data on a network of nationwide intelligence databases.”

“Vehicles associated with protesters are being tracked via a nationwide system of automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras,” reports the Guardian. “One man, who has no criminal record, was stopped more than 25 times in less than three years after a “protest” marker was placed against his car after he attended a small protest against duck and pheasant shooting.

And the one sentence that sums it all up:

“Just because you have no criminal record does not mean that you are not of interest to the police.”

You know what we call that, don’t you? Guilty until proven innocent.
