You don’t have to be a chemist to understand the lethal nature of a hazardous chemical agent like white phosphorus (WP), which bursts into flames upon coming in contact with oxygen.
It burns non-stop through anything and everything until separated from the oxygen. In fact, it’s so severe that using it as a weapon is considered a violation of international law. Remember a few months back when the IDF denied using white phosphorus on civilians in Gaza? Well, guess who’s playing that game now?
The blame game, that is, and the answer is both the United States and Afghanistan. After 100 civilians were burned, the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) has claimed that American soldiers have used WP against them, while the soldiers claim that the Taliban are using it against their own people (surprise, surprise).
According to U.S. military spokesman Colonel Greg Julian:
“The insurgents possess and use white phosphorus as a weapon against people. It’s a law of war that we adhere to but the insurgents blatantly violate…”
The list of 44 incidents published by the military included only 11 cases in which insurgents actually fired white phosphorus rounds, and none in which anyone was reported to have been injured or killed. Considering America is fighting a losing and, at this point, unjustified war in Afghanistan, why wouldn’t the Afghans throw everything they have at them?

Not to mention that the wolrd’s leading producer of WP rounds is Israel, which almost certainly has no love for the taliban. Where would they get the shit?

They aren’t exactly technologically sophisticated. They are a gang of Islamist thugs with nothing better to live for than killing, raping, self-detonating, and raving about some Muslim utopia that will never exist. Can we please get our boys out now?

Actually, they recently reported that the white phosphorus provided to the Taliban was acquired from BRITAIN!
